Overall happy with it. It does what I bought it to do however it is a little frustrating that you can only put full size plates in some of the "slots" otherwise the part and spins on the bottom of the top rack hits them.

Overall, we're fans. The cutlery basket does NOT sit well - we've tried rotating it all around the bottom drawer, but it never "locks in" and is constantly falling over. May not seem like a big problem, but for how much this cost, it makes me angry every time I open the drawer.

We have only hooked unit up in the last two weeks so only used it twice, however all I can say is so far so good. It is so quiet and does not seem to use a lot of water. We do not put heavily soiled dishes in without attention but I can tell you is the dishes appear and feel clean when complete. Considering its compact size, I think its perfect for our application.

I love this dishwasher. The racks are well-thought out. The dishes came out sparkling clean. It's attractive. I like the controls out of sight. The stainless steel interior feels cleaner, more sanitary. It's so quiet, I had to get up twice to check if it was actually running. Great delivery! Even got here early as requested from AM delivery. Came in perfect condition. No dents or scratches…. We had a little trouble with getting the front wheels seated and an initial small leak on the seal. With a couple small adjustments we were up and running.

Overall, this is great. Here is why:
It runs quieter than expected and does a good job. I wish that the connections were easier to pull out and put back in - sometimes it feels like I'm pulling too hard and causing damage, although I am not. I wiped mineral oil on the faucet connection tubes to reduce friction, but this might not be a long term solution.
The wheels could also use a locking mechanism, as my floor is uneven and causes the washer to travel, but this also speaks to how easy the washer is to maneuver, which is great. I purchased a 2" doorstop and this fixes this problem perfectly. If you want to replace the wheels, I'd avoid doing so. It is likely that they wont have clearance enough to swivel, as they need to be close enough to the small diameter of the stock wheels.
The user interface is great. The whole machine looks fantastic in the kitchen, and serves to add more counter space for my situation.
Unless you have large loads of dishes regularly, the smaller washer is enough room. It can hold a couple days of dirty dishes from 2 people, but pots and large cookware will take up a lot of space. That's normal, though.
I received an error code yesterday, but was able to fix it - my water intake tube was at an angle too severe and it prohibited water flow. Simple fix, but the error code was mysterious. Perhaps in the manual there is a list of error codes and their explanations - I did not look, I googled - so that'd be nice to have on hand. If it's included, well done GE. If not, add it. Maybe add a QR code leading to troubleshooting or FAQ on the inside of the detergent lid.
Find this thing at a discount, and you're golden.

I really like this dishwasher. This is my first portable dishwasher and I was nervous at first but it really is super easy to use. I wish it had a latch for the door. Mine has popped open during the wash a couple of times. It doesn't cause a mess but just stops the cycle.

We just installed it today and the first run was great. I didn't think we'd have room for a dishwasher but the size is perfect. Our plumber was very creative in making a hook up that hides under the sink (our faucet was not compatible with the DW hook up) - Super happy that this size and quality was available for smaller areas!

The dishwasher runs very quiet and uses very little water to operate, the unit is missing a drying setting for your dishes, but the sanitizer feature should help if the door is opened immediately after the cycle ends. The racks seem somewhat lower quality, and do not stay "lined up" that well on the bottom when pulling out the bottom rack. Features I would re-design: the wheels on the bottom rack, the addition of a drying cycle, and making the holes in the silverware rack larger on top (My flatware will not fit thru the tiny openings) Overall this is a good dishwasher that operates quietly and efficiently.

I didn't want to give up cabinet space for a dishwasher so with a large floor area determined I could go for this smaller portable which can be moved around on the low pile carpet in the kitchen. It has worked wonderfully as an 'island' and added to my counterspace along with having a place to put dirty dishes rather than filling the sink or counter. The only problem I've run into is not being able to push the hoses back into the body so they are hanging out about 12-16" until a repairman can come and fix the problem. It's not obvious how to take the 'cover' off to access the recess for storing the hoses and it's still under warranty, so I'll wait to learn how to fix in future from the repairman. One of the hoses would come out with an obvious kink/fold in it since I first got it which was concerning, but would fill out as the hot water ran and it warmed and softened. I probably ran the dishwasher 5 times before the hoses wouldn't readily go back in.

I'd never heard of portable dishwashers before, but this is fantastic. It operates just as well as a regular dishwasher. It is annoying to have to attach it to the sink, but it's less of a hassle than I thought it would be. The top rack is easily adjustable, and it does a good job cleaning my dishes. I don't have to pre-rinse them if I run it on the heavy cycle. After seeing this, several friends are thinking of getting their own.

It technically washes dishes, I think. If I scrape the food and load they won't be clean but if I rinse immediately and put them in clean they are clean. I'm not sure if I'm cleaning them at that point or the dishwasher is. My last dishwasher I was spoiled and did not worry about these things. You could put anything but maybe egg dishes in there and they would be clean. The same dishes, detergent, aid, and person in this one and only about 90% get clean so now I do about 1/3 of my dishes by hand and totally rinse fully the other 2/3. I agree with the other reviews that the design of the load area is poor and seems to not really fit anything which is a big deal since it's an 18". Design could have made a big difference to its use. The reason I made this review though is the hoses and power cord. It's very frustrating. The other reviewers aren't stupid or weak. The hose really goes in until the last foot then you have to nearly break it, which I won't do because the other reviewers did and had to replace their hoses. You can tell pushing it in it goes in okay until the last foot then it's a wall, you can push it in technically but it feels like you are bending the actual hose up which is hard and will quickly break down the hose. Today, however, somehow and I don't know how- I go to pull out the power cord and it's stuck. It comes out a few inches and that's it. It's hard to imagine this is due to anything other than whatever terrible situation is going on inside that back with those hoses and cords having such a hard time going back. The back panel doesn't just come off either. I'll have to look into how to take the machine apart. Atleast I will be able to see what in the world is going on with these hoses. There really should be a recall on the hose but since it's not safety there will not be.
Please don't give me any tips on how to successfully operate a dishwasher or slowly feed a hose back into it.

Because intake hose and drain hoses bend when putting hoses away for the evening into the back of the dishwasher. Consequentily, next time i use the dishwasher i must carefully pull hoses out of back of dishwasher so as not to bend the hoses. If i bend any hoses when hooking it to the faucet, the dishwasher will beep when turned on and won't work. This happened 3 times.

Our kitchen does not have an inbuilt dishwasher and we couldn't add one without remodeling at least part of the kitchen. We wasted 4 years handwashing and letting dirty dishes pile up in the sink until we could find the time to spend 30 mins washing and drying. I told myself portable dishwashers would be a pain, not worth the effort, or wouldn't hold enough to be worth it. This machine is the best upgrade I've bought for my house *period*. I can't believe we waited this long.
It's very quiet, with the exception of when it pumps the water out of itself and into the sink can be quite loud because it splashes in the sink, but that is about 20 seconds long, 3-5 times during a cycle depending on settings. Our dishes come out of this thing in a way I would describe as "aggressively clean". As long as we've kept the rinse aid reservoir filled up we've gotten excellent results, and I really appreciate being able to stow the hoses away in the back of the unit.
I do agree with some of the other reviews that the controls are a bit annoying, you can't see the time remaining unless you open the door and interrupt the cycle, but once you get used to the timing of the thing, you're gonna know how long it takes to run. Also do watch out not to place anything too tall in the front left of the bottom rack, as it can prevent the detergent door from opening, or from opening all the way. It can be annoying to have the kitchen faucet monopolized while the machine is running, but if you have a sprayer handle you can still use that during the cycle if you need to rinse something off etc.
Last, the "condensate dry" drying function actually works pretty well! Plastic items do not dry as well as glass, metal or ceramic items but that's just the nature of the system, the objects have to stay hot for a while to evaporate. We will usually just roll the machine back to the corner when the cycle is done and then open the door a bit and everything is very dry within a couple of hours. Even if you leave the door closed, the drying works very well.
I can't recommend it enough.

It is great to have this smaller sized dishwasher. I have a small kitchen, and since there is only myself to dirt up dishes it is perfect! I just wish however the controls were not on the inside top of the door. You can not read the minutes left or what cycle it is on. The start button is difficult to find the sweet spot that lets you push it to start. Other than that it works very well.

Unless you use huge dinner plates every day, the entire back half of the dishwasher is completely useless! Any dish I put there, even if it stays upright, is dangling into the washing arm so that it stops it. As others have said, the front controls are ridiculously hidden. I have to bend down and squint into this tiny little slit to see what's going on, totally insane. The interior is just designed so badly, I find it very difficult to figure out where to put my dishes. The silverware basket is next to useless. If you have any kind of design on your silverware they're not going to fit inside the tiny little slits that they gave you to put silverware in. Fortunately I saved the silverware basket from my old dishwasher and I use that. I'll probably just throw the one that came with it out. The hoses completely impossible to store. I thought I'd broken something the first time I pulled the hose out, and there's no way I'm going to force it back in. So now it dangles out the back really stupidly. I had a little Danby for 6 years, it was wonderful, plenty of room inside for an 18 in. The reviews on the GE portable or atrocious, but there really isn't another 18 in available. I had to have a portable and I had to have an 18 inch because of the size of my kitchen. I also hate the stainless steel, stainless steel appliances are constantly dirty. I almost hope this one dies sooner rather than later.

The size is perfect for my kitchen and I'm amazed how many dishes it holds. It cleans the dishes beautifully too! However, I had read in reviews on the website where I purchased it about problems with pinched hoses and trouble getting the hoses back into the unit after each use. Unfortunately I have a very difficult time getting the hoses back into the unit also, especially without pinching. With each use it seems to be more difficult to wrangle them back into the machine. ☹️

We love our new dishwasher. Only tiny grow is our water hose is difficult to put all the way back in the chamber and the same with pulling it out. Not a big deal. We just leave it part way out when not in use.

Biggest hunk of junk! At 5 months the dishwasher stopped draining. It's flooded my house 4 times. The pumps been replaced still doesn't drain. GE will not take it back. DONT BUY THIS WASTE OF MONEY. WILL RUIN YOUR FLOORS FROM FLOODING.

This GE portable 18" dishwasher is just what I wanted. The dishwasher does a very nice job of cleaning my dishes. I mostly use it on the 90 min setting. This cleans my dishes to 98%. Occasionally there are tiny bumps or a granular feel on a dish. But this dish may have had a food item that had dried on it. Sometimes I might leave a "flack" type of cereal in the sink for the day. They attach like iron. With this GE dishwasher those bowls come out very clean. The body of the dishwasher is solid as is the top which is black. It rolls very well. The dishwasher hose is long enough but just barely. The faucet adapter and hose clamp mechanism is solid and tight. I really like the fact you store the hose and power cord which elements the unsightly hose and cord being hung on hooks on the back. And both elements come from the top back panel. These two items, storage and high location of hoses, were the selling points for me. Other must have items which this dishwasher has is stainless steel interior, two settings for the upper rack, and a separate upper rack spray arm. I've had the GE dishwasher for 3 weeks and everything is working well. I hope to have a worry free owner's experience for at least 5 years. I'm happy I bought this portable 18" GE dishwasher.
